Everyone knows it's been a tough economy for quite a while now, and most people are struggling to just get by.  Reality for many is, their job status is tentative at best, and the days of making great money are in the past.  People are content to make a living and cutback on the frills, like travel and vacation to exotic locations.  So, if things are tough, is it still  okay to dream?  Can dreams still come true?  I say yes, but it takes some vision and a departure from the normal work routine, of trade your time for pay.  That's called linear income.  What we need is "non-linear" income streams.  But how?

An old saying goes, "If you want to become rich, do what the rich do".   This is easier stated than done, but it does make sense to study and learn from rich people.  Find a successful mentor, ask questions and learn all the things that they do to become successful.  In most cases, you will find that rich, successful people have multiple streams of passive royalties or residual income.  Residual income comes from doing something once, but getting paid over and over for that one time effort.   Musicians make money everytime you buy or hear their music played, actors everytime you see their films or TV shows, and real estate moguls make rental income from their properties.  That's all great, but how does the average Joe, who can't afford major investments, make passive or residual income?

Thankfully, due to the internet, there are many ways to make passive or residual income, through home based businesses, blogging, and network marketing.  There are many arguments pro and con for these opportunities, but again, thanks to the internet, there are many avenues for people to investigate before jumping into a new business.  Though search engines are the most common way to find information, the best places to research a company are through institutions that study business, like the Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, Forbes, Success Magazine, the Better Business Bureau, and so on.  There are many books and articles on the subject, and I've added a few links for you to take a look.   My recommendation is, don't over do the research.  Make sure the business you are interested in starting is legitimate, then give it a try.  In most cases, the investment isn't substantial, so if it doesnt' work for you, at least you didn't lose a lot of money.  There are lots of great network marketing companies, like Tupperware, Melaleuca, Amway, Nerium, and ACN.  Look them over and ask questions of people already involved in the business.  But, ultimately, the choice is up to you.

I was laid off from a full-time job in 2010, my 401K had become a 101F, and my only real estate investment in Florida was underwater, or "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".  At my age (55), finding a good job is tough, so I take on short term contracts, and accelerated efforts with my part-time video production business.  But I needed more income, and started looking around at network marketing options.  I am very excited about the company I found, but more importantly, the guys I met who got me excited, Kirk Walsh and Steve Houle.   Kirk and Steve are both engineers from New Hampshire, and they are dealing in new technology, energy, and merchant services.  They are having massive success and expanding their business down my way, and the concept made so much sense to me, that I joined right away.  I am extremely lucky to have them at my house on Wed. Jan. 8th at 7 pm, to make a short presentation to those interested in making a better life.  Don't miss this chance to start making your financial dreams come true.  Call me now, and save a seat for you and a friend, or go to the link below for Eventbrite, and reserve your tickets to meet Steve and Kirk, today.  Got Residual?
